Joy Chakraborty is currently holding the position of Chief Operating Officer at P. D. Hinduja Hospital & Medical Research Centre with 24 years of experience in healthcare industry.

Prior to joining P.D. Hinduja Hospital he had worked for 9 years with Sri Ramachandra Medical Centre (SRMC), Chennai that is also associated with Sri Ramachandra Medical College (Deemed University).

Before starting his career, he completed his Post Graduation in Healthcare Management. He has undergone advanced Executive Education from Harvard Business School, Boston, USA in Managing Healthcare Delivery and attended MDP on ‘Finance for Business leaders’ organized by IIM – Ahmedabad.

Joy is currently, Chairman – Healthcare Initiatives of CII (Western Region), Member of National Healthcare Committee of CII and Sports Committee of CII. He is currently the Regional Chairman (West) for CAHO (Consortium of Accredited Healthcare Organization).  He is President of Association of Healthcare Providers of India (AHPI – Maharashtra & Goa); Member of Advisory Board of Healthcare Programs (IIM-Calcutta); Member of Industry Academia Board (XLRI – Jamshedpur). He has been nominated as Chairman of Health Sector Skill Council (HSSC) for Western Region. He is on the Academic Board of Several institutes including IIHMR – Jaipur, Welingkar Business School – Mumbai. Joy is advisor for Symbiosis Institute of Health Sciences which is a part of Symbiosis University. He is an Advisory Board Member of QAI (Quality Accreditation Institute) and also an Advisory Board member of K G Hospital, Coimbatore.  He is former National President – Voice of Healthcare (VOH), and was a member of Accreditation Committee of NABH. Joy has travelled foreign countries as part of healthcare delegation for India.

Joy has been awarded “Patient Experience Professional of the Year” by Indian Chamber of Commerce (ICC) and CRM Academy of Asia in 2019. He also has been featured in Top News Makers of 2018 & 2019 “Who Impacted The Healthcare Industry” by Medgate Today.  He has been a recipient of Rashtriya Sanman Award by National Education & Human Resource Development Organization. Joy was recognized with HealthCare Leadership award at the 2019 ABP News 5^th HealthCare leadership awards and in June 2020, he was recognized as one of “Inspiring HealthCare Leaders of India” at the 3^rd edition of Economic Times – Doctor’s Day Conclave. He was recently recognized with “CXO Health Excellence Award” at the 6^th CXO Digital Innovation Health Summit held in February 2021.

Joy is a member of Lions Club, Shivaji Park and honorary Trustee of “Spare A Moment”, an NGO that works for animals, environment, underprivileged and senior citizens.  He is the Hon. Advisor of Bengal Club, Shivaji Park. 

Joy has closely worked with and on projects of central government, state government including government bodies like Niti Aayog for Health Care domain.  He has been an expert member who contributed National Education Policy.
